Toa
Toa Nuva
Toa Metru
The Toa are classic heroes of Bionicle. They are the guardians and the warriors that protect the people (the Matoran), the
land (Mata Nui & Metru Nui) and the Three Virtues (Unity, Duty, and Destiny).
They are famed beings with extreme powers, they represent the elements: Fire, Ice, Air, Stone, Water, and Earth. They are
the masters of these elements and have complete control over them.
So far, there are three kinds of Toa: the original Toa, the Toa Nuva, and the Toa Metru. The Toa Metru were the first Toa
(that we know of) that lived on Metru Nui, but when they arrived on Mat Nui, they turned into Turaga. Next followed the Toa,
who later formed into the Toa Nuva with stronger powers.
The next generation of Toa: the Toa Hordika.
Turaga
The Turaga are the wise leaders of the Matoran on both Mata Nui and Metru Nui. They guide their people through quests and
journeys that can lead to anything.
There are two kinds of Turaga so far: The Turaga of Mata Nui (formerly the Toa Metru) and Dume, the Turaga of Metru Nui. Once
a Toa has fulfilled their destiny, they can decide to either stay as a Toa or become a Turaga.
Matoran
Six districts on each island, and six kinds of Matoran for each. There are Ta-Matoran, Ko-Matoran, Le-Matoran, Po-Matoran,
Ga-Matoran, and Onu-Matoran that come from villages that represent the elements of Fire, Ice, Air, Stone, Water, and Earth.
Matoran are the villagers and citizens of Bionicle; common-folk. They have some human qualities, but are also quite original
and have their own ways. There are thousands of Matoran, so the list is only of some well-known ones.
Rahkshi
The Rahkshi are a mysterious species somewhat similar to the Rahi. Although six were named the official Sons of Makuta, there
is actually a vast group of them living on Metru Nui.
Great Beings
Great Beings are awesome spirits with huge amounts of power. They are the centre of the whole Bionicle Universe and are worshipped
by the Matoran on the islands. Not many are known for now, but we still have some information on them.
